BARS & COUNTERTOPS

A countertop extends from the wall towards the front of image, transitioning from standard square to end in a large round island. Countertop has been refinished with epoxy, mimicking sandstone with striations of browns, golds, rust reds, and teals

One of the things we love about using epoxy is the fact we can often pour right over the existing countertops.

This saves time with demo and prep, saves money on materials, cuts down on what ends up in the landfill, and in cases like this allows us to keep the original quirky personality to some extent.

How it works:

An over abundance of prep keeps things neat and makes clean-up a breeze.

  •  We can typically go over any existing countertops in place. If not, we can fabricate a new substrate and pour in place

  • We carefully tape and plastic off everything surrounding the work area to ensure we don’t leave a mess or damage your other areas

  • We will clean and sand/grind the existing counters. This also includes any possible repairs that may need to take place in order to ensure a smooth and beautiful end product

  • We use an epoxy based primer that will go down prior to the decorative epoxy coating installation, this creates a chemical bond between the decorative coating and the substrate

  • After 24 hours of letting the epoxy cure we will apply a urethane topcoat over the epoxy. This will add an additional layer of extreme strength and durability that helps ensure your epoxy will last for a long time to come

    • Our urethane product:

      • comes in either a matte or a gloss finish

      • meets USDA Food and Beverage regulations

      • is chemical resistant and easy to clean

      • is UV stable so it does not yellow and colors do not fade

  • 24 hours after urethane application the counters are ready for use.

Total time for typical installation: 2 days
